Can't believe it, it has been 9 years since the first AmBank Challenge and again we gets to compete the only endurance race in AmBank. Trailblazer have send their best team which consist of Atan the Tiger, As, Djohan and Pah (first timer). Meanwhile, Cool Trekkers is headed by Yanti. This time the race is held at Pangsun, Ulu Langat.

The race starts with orienteering (rather odd) and pool crossing. TB struggle to complete this course and 3 of their members have totally exhausted. Their race virtually has ended here. CT manage to cross it easily as all of them knows how to swim. The race proceed with river scrambling, wall climbing, paintball target, puzzle, archery and about 6km of on the road and jungle running. Phew..just thinking of it made me sweat.

At the end CT gets 10 placing and TB gets 11 placing. Pah famous quote`tobat aku taknak masuk lagi' remind ourselves on our first AmBank Challenge. As usual the `tobat' is `tobat cili padi, habis pedas buat lagi' and I'm sure we haven't seen the last of her yet. All in all, not a bad result as these teams are new although their members are not (chuckle). Hope to see them again next year in the tenth edition.

The race 14km jungle trekking plus some `mandi lumpur' obstacle at the end of it has surely made our day. Anuar the `bidan terjun' has shown he has what it takes to finish the course. Devi perform well. Our second team Ija is really unfit and needs some serious training. All in all it is a good experience for the two teams. Me has to skip this event due to `demam kura-kura'. Thanks to Anuar who able to participate despite the `really' short notice given (at 4.30am raceday). I'm sure he will join us again in the next race.

As we have complained earlier in the previous run, this time the organiser did gave us a water station at the 5km point. However, most of the `kaki komplen' did not participate in this event. So Syed dominates, muSang pandan and Djohan BIG apples unable to give any real challenge. The musang has quote that he can only perform at night time (maklumlah musang!). The time as follows:

Our last effort through this dreaded route is somewhere in April 2007. Nine of us turn up for the event (15 registered). Most who did not turn up have various reason such as demam kura2, pi candat sutong, semalam telebih keja and tak sanggup lawan pelari Kenya. However, it is quite heartening to `hear’ that our almost extinct runner Yem aka Chua Jui Meng and Atan adalah Tiger did compete in the event. Note: hear simply means most of us did not `see’ them at the event (pemalu sangat la tu).

Well at press time, the following are our official time:
Syed – 71mins
Ewan – 73mins
Atan – 75mins
Erra adalah Coklat – 75mins
Yem – 85mins (frust tak dapat kalahkan pelari Kenya)
Ija – 90mins
me – 100mins (a new club record, alasannya air takde).

Good work guys. The next event is Larian Bersama Abang Bomba. Same route (arghhhh!!) and hope there is a water station at the 5km point.

Orange Run

Date: 13 April, 2008
Venue: The Curve
Distance - 9km

Heavy rain in the morning has not dampen us to participate in the Orange Run. Accept for the newlywed Ad and Syed (biasala....kan hujan), the musang pandan (takut hujan la tu) have came and conquer. To our surprise Atan adalah Tiger has given us a scare by performing really well in his first run after all these years. Saber our own `harapan' to beat the Kenyan is not so bad either. The time as follow:-

Jnul - 53 mins -mentang2 la kak long takde.

Djohan - 59 mins

Ewan Ensem - 60 mins

Atan adalah Tiger (meow) - 61 mins

Erra Coklat - 69 mins - pelari dr Jamaica.

Saber - 70 mins

me - 73 mins - dia ni mcm lari 10km aje.

Yanti - 73 mins 5 saat - hahahaha

Ija - 85 mins

AhKam - disqualified sbb naik keta dengan Alice.

Here we go again, the first run participated by majority of our runners this year. The turnout is absolutely fantastic, despite without the likes of Jnul and AhKam (have a run in Jakarta) our runners are very competitive indeed. As we can see in 21km Ewan finishes first at 2.35, follows by Djohan at 2.40 and the Pengantin at 3.00. Meanwhile, in the 10km category:

As - 1.10 (ikut short cut la tu)

Erra the Coklat - 1.14 (main tipula tu!)

me - 1.19 (ni aje yang tak main tipu) tahniah3x

Yanti - 1.20 (no komen)

Ad - 1.30 (semalam dah buat 42k, hari ni slow sket)

Ija - 1.30 (biasala....kan dah namanya sweeper)

Hope to do better in our next run which is the ORANGE run.
